A program of expression and creativity
Art Connect is a program for Opportunity Connections, designed to encourage and teach artistic expression and creation for people with developmental disabilities, through the use of various mediums and with a variety of techniques.
What It Is
Fun! It's about creative expression. It's about communicating with art. It's about experimentation. It's also about learning valuable skills. Within the program, as things progress, participants should get a chance to delve into many different forms of art, including, but not limited to:
The use of pencils, pens, pastels, charcoals, and chalks, alone or with other mediums, to create artistic works.
Working with clay, putty, glaze, ceramic paints, and other materials, to create three dimensional works.
Experimenting with using printed images and words, textiles, paints, inks, and other materials, upon a surface, to create meaingful works of art.
Applying acrylics, watercolors, pastels, and other pigments, using brushes and other tools, upon a variety of painting surfaces.
Learning to use digital cameras and editing software to capture and manipulate images.
